Elden Ring Nightreign PS5 vs PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X|S Graphics Comparison

The network test for Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware’s action role-playing game, Elden Ring Nightreign, is currently available on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, and if you’re on the fence about which version to play, read ahead.

Elden Ring Nightreign offers 2 graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X i.e. Quality and Performance. In terms of graphical settings, Quality mode on all consoles features improved shadow resolution and draw distance over Performance mode. The differences between both display modes on PS5 Pro are almost negligible, suggesting that the game has not yet been fully adapted to the platform. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S version makes some cutbacks in terms of foliage density and ambient occlusion applied certain elements.

In terms of image quality, the PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X run Elden Ring Nightreign at a native resolution of 4K (2160p). In Performance mode, the game runs at a dynamic resolution that targets 4K on all three consoles, but commonly runs at 1800p on PS5 and Xbox Series X and at 4K on PS5 Pro. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S version runs at a native resolution of 1440p in Quality mode and dynamic 1080p in Performance mode.

With regards to performance, the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the game target a frame rate of 60 fps in both Quality mode and Performance mode. In Quality mode, the PS5 version averages at a frame rate of around 40 fps, the PS5 Pro at around 55 fps, the Xbox Series X at around 37 fps, and Xbox Series S at around 35 fps. In Performance mode, all version average at a frame rate of around 60 fps.

All in all, even though Elden Ring Nightreign has not yet been fully adapted to the PS5 Pro, it delivers the best console experience on the console.
