Elden Ring Nightreign Update 1.02.2 Brings Balance Tweaks, Enemy Adjustments, and Bug Fixes

Elden Ring Nightreign has rolled out update 1.02.2, featuring a wide range of balance changes, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes. Several Nightfarers classes have been reworked, with Wylder, Guardian, Duchess, Raider, and others receiving buffs to attack power, spellcasting, and defensive abilities. Trinkets, weapons, relic effects, and passive effects were also rebalanced, ensuring smoother combat and fairer progression.

The patch also brings substantial changes to Everdark Sovereign encounters, adjusting boss behaviors, status effects, and summoned allies. Alongside enemy rebalancing, online penalties for disconnecting have been updated, menus refined, and major bugs fixed to enhance gameplay stability. PC players benefit from improved target switching and better overall performance.

Balance Changes and Feature Updates

Nightfarers Adjustments

  • Wylder: Increased Poise and Stamina damage for Claw Shot.
  • Guardian: Higher Strength and Dexterity gains; improved Steel Guard angle, Wings of Salvation range, and Halberd guard counter power.
  • Duchess: Higher Dexterity gain; improved dagger power; reduced two-handed dagger second heavy attack; Finale Ultimate Art lasts longer.
  • Raider: Improved stagger potential for Greataxe and Great Hammer; extended Retaliation skill range.
  • Revenant: Transparency of spirits adjusted; players can pass through Helen and Frederick.
  • Recluse: Magic Cocktail spells hit harder and cast faster.
  • Executor: Boosted Cursed Sword damage and Crucible Beast effects.

Weapons, Passive Effects, and Special Effects

  • Increased stagger from dual-wielded jump attacks (small/medium weapons), decreased for large weapons.
  • Death Flare (Eclipse Shotel) now applies stronger death ailment.
  • Adjusted cumulative potency of Power of Vengeance and House Marais effects.
  • Holy burst explosions no longer reset posture breaks.

Relic Effects

  • Wylder fiery follow-up attacks now consume stamina.
  • Fire spread burn effect buffed and balanced.
  • Ironeye weak point extension improved.
  • Stronger HP recovery, medicinal healing, and Rune gain on crits.
  • Recluse Ultimate Art HP boost persists until hit.
  • Enhanced HP/FP restoration effects.
  • Reduced duration of knockback poise bonus.

Other Adjustments

  • Rykard’s Rancor visibility improved.

Everdark Sovereign Adjustments

  • Sentient Pest: Stronger attacks under Animus possession, reduced stagger duration, and refined movesets.
  • Equilibrious Beast: Condemned Nightfarers easier to dispel; improved light buffs; reduced Guardian power; lowered resistances; targeting adjustments. Known rendering issue persists.
  • Darkdrift Knight: Fulghor receives HP and stamina buffs against guarding players, with stronger attacks overall.

Other Enemies

  • Condemned Nightfarers react more realistically to ranged attacks.
  • Red Wolf of the King Consort now staggers from strong hits.
  • Marionette Soldier attack accuracy corrected.

Limveld Adjustments

  • Increased Night’s Tide damage after the second boss.
  • Adjusted Sentient Pest spawn locations.

Menu Adjustments

  • Holy attribute icon redesigned.

Online Penalties

  • Disconnect penalties rebalanced. Rejoining a session removes the penalty.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Wylder greatsword delay issue when mixing spells.
  • Guardian’s Wings of Salvation no longer interrupted or deflected.
  • Duchess backstep input bug resolved.
  • Magic Cocktail spellcasting fixed.
  • Revenant spirit revival and visual bugs corrected.
  • Executor critical hit and pre-input issues fixed.
  • Passive effects like Power of Vengeance and House Marais no longer reset incorrectly.
  • Multiple fixes for animation glitches, network instabilities, Dormant Power, Frostbite, and boss encounters.
  • Improved rendering efficiency for Tricephalos attacks on PS4 and Xbox One.

PC-Only Adjustments

  • Easier diagonal target switching.
  • Stability improvements for certain setups.

Elden Ring Nightreign is a 2025 roguelike action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. A spin-off of the 2022 hit Elden Ring, it shifts the focus to cooperative and roguelike mechanics.
