Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has appeared for preorder on Amazon for Nintendo Switch 2, revealing new details about its format and pricing ahead of release. The listing indicates that the game will be distributed as a game key card and priced at $79.99, aligning with other platform versions that include the full package.
Wario64 recently highlighted a preorder for “ELDEN RING: Tarnished Edition” for the Switch 2, priced at $79.99 on Amazon. The “KC” designation refers to a game key card format, indicating that the physical release may require a download instead of containing the entire game data on the cartridge.
Based on the box art, it seems that the game will require approximately 75 GB of space for downloading data associated with the game key card. This requirement is likely applicable to digital copies of the game as well. As a result, this places ELDEN RING in the same category as other high-profile third-party titles, such as Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Tarnished Edition serves as a complete version of the original Elden Ring, bundling the base game with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion alongside additional content such as new armor sets and customization options for Torrent. The pricing appears consistent with other platforms offering the same expanded package.
Originally announced with a 2025 target, the Switch 2 version has faced delays tied to optimization challenges. As of April 2026, the game is still scheduled for release later this year, though a specific launch date has not been confirmed.
FromSoftware has also confirmed that newly added content in this edition will be made available separately for existing players on other platforms.
