Elite Dangerous Update Adds Type-11 Prospector Ship and System Colonisation Enhancements

by Ali Haider

Frontier Developments has launched the Elite Dangerous: Type-11 Prospector Update, a significant patch that expands mining, system colonisation, and new player onboarding. The headline addition is the Lakon Type-11 Prospector, a medium-sized mining ship now available via ARX Early Access, along with new mining equipment and pre-built variants.

The update also introduces demolition mechanics for system colonisation facilities, giving architects more control over construction efforts. Alongside this, a revamped onboarding flow provides clearer objectives for new players, while a wide array of bug fixes, balancing adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements enhance the overall experience.
