Frontier Developments has released Elite Dangerous: Vanguards Patch 1, introducing new features and addressing several issues affecting gameplay. Players can now install Vista Genomics and Pioneer Supplies Vendors on Squadron Carriers, enhancing their utility for exploration and trade. Colonisation mechanics have also been adjusted to prevent economies from draining their own resources, ensuring more stable markets across settlements.
The update expands squadron capabilities by raising the maximum membership limit to 600 and increasing pending applications to 25. Further improvements were made to squadron text filtering, while bug fixes address issues such as population growth errors, crashing during planetary scans, and service inconsistencies with carriers. A temporary suspension of the Squadrons cargo Insurance perk has been noted while related issues are resolved.

- The Squadrons cargo Insurance perk has been temporarily disabled. It remains selectable but does not provide any effect. Players may change perks via the “edit squadron details” option.
