Epic Games Store December 30 Mystery Game Is Trine Classic Collection

by Ali Haider

Epic Games Store has revealed that its December 30 mystery game is Trine Classic Collection, marking Mystery Game number 14 out of 17 in its Holiday Sale 2025 promotion. The announcement continues Epic’s daily giveaway schedule, which has delivered a new free PC title every 24 hours since mid-December. As with previous mystery games, the collection will be available to claim for a limited time once it goes live on the storefront.

Trine Classic Collection bundles together four entries from the long-running puzzle platforming series developed by Frozenbyte. The package includes Trine Enchanted Edition, Trine 2 Complete Story, Trine 3 Artifacts of Power, and Trine 4 Definitive Edition. The Definitive Edition of Trine 4 also contains The Nightmare Prince and the Melody of Mystery DLC expansion, rounding out the series’ mainline content in a single offering.

Across the collection, players follow three recurring protagonists bound by the magical artifact known as Trine. Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief each bring distinct abilities that must be used in tandem to solve physics-driven puzzles, navigate hazardous environments, and defeat waves of enemies. The games emphasize switching characters on the fly, encouraging creative problem-solving rather than brute force. Through the early entries, the trio gradually learns the nature and consequences of the powers granted to them by Trine, forming the narrative backbone of the series.

Trine 4 marks a return to the franchise’s traditional 2.5D perspective after experimentation in Trine 3. Its story introduces Prince Selius, a troubled young wizard whose dark dreams manifest physically, threatening the world around him. The heroes are tasked with containing the damage before the situation escalates further, bringing the series back to a more focused structure that long-time fans often associate with its strongest moments.

The reveal of Trine Classic Collection follows Viewfinder, which was offered on December 29. Earlier mystery games included We Were Here Together, Cassette Beasts, SKALD Against the Black Priory, and several other notable titles. With three mystery games still remaining in the promotion, Epic Games Store continues to close out its Holiday Sale with a steady cadence of high-value releases.
