Every Witcher Game Surpasses 10 Million Sales Milestone

by Salal Awan

CD Projekt Red has confirmed updated sales figures for The Witcher franchise, revealing that every mainline entry in the series has surpassed 10 million copies sold. The disclosure brings long-awaited clarity to the performance of the older titles and places the combined sales of the Witcher series at nearly 100 million units worldwide. The figures were shared publicly by CD Projekt Red leadership in response to a discussion highlighting the best-selling video games developed in Poland.

The confirmation came after a list of top selling Polish games was posted on social media by Michał Król. The list cited 60 million copies sold for The Witcher 3, alongside 35 million for Cyberpunk 2077 and 20 million for Dying Light. While the post focused primarily on overall rankings, it prompted a direct response from CD Projekt Red Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski, who expanded on the Witcher figures specifically.

Nowakowski stated that The Witcher 2 has sold 15 million copies, while the original The Witcher has reached 10 million units sold. He also noted that both titles continue to sell. When combined with the previously known figure of 60 million copies for The Witcher 3, the franchise now stands at approximately 85 million units sold across its three main entries. While CD Projekt Red did not provide an exact cumulative total, the updated numbers place the series firmly within reach of the 100 million milestone.

This confirmation is notable because sales data for the earlier Witcher titles had not been officially updated for several years. Until now, public attention had largely focused on the commercial success of The Witcher 3, which had become one of the best-selling role-playing games of all time. The newly shared figures demonstrate that the franchise’s success is not limited to its most recent entry but extends across the entire trilogy.
