As the summer heat peaks, Netflix is preparing to refresh its library with a wide range of new content throughout August 2025. The platform brings a mix of original series, documentaries, and major Hollywood franchises while bidding farewell to several notable titles.
Coming to Netflix in August 2025
Among the highlights this month is the debut of Wednesday: Season 2 Part 1, continuing the story of the Addams Family’s gothic teenager. Other Netflix Originals like Love Is Blind: UK: Season 2, Dinner Time Live With David Chang: Season 3, and Final Draft help round out the platform’s growing library of exclusive programming.
Subscribers can also look forward to a wide range of films. My Oxford Year, a Netflix Original romance drama, joins the service on August 1. Several fan-favorite films return that day, including Jurassic Park, Clueless, Rush Hour, and The Departed.
Franchise lovers can rejoice as multiple entries from the Fast and Furious series are also scheduled to drop on August 16, such as Furious 7 and Tokyo Drift. Additionally, family favorites like Megamind, Minions, and Despicable Me return for younger audiences.
Netflix is not slowing down on the documentary front either. Titles like Katrina: Come Hell and High Water, Stolen: Heist of the Century, and The Echoes of Survivors: Inside Korea’s Tragedies offer deeper dives into historical and contemporary issues.

Leaving Netflix in August 2025
With the arrival of new content, several popular titles are also set to leave Netflix. Fans of classic cinema may want to rewatch The Birds, Psycho, and The Breakfast Club before they disappear on August 1. Also departing is The Lego Movie, Dunkirk, and Everest, all leaving in the first week of the month.
Long-running TV series such as Ugly Betty, My Wife and Kids, and Ballers will no longer be available by mid-month. Notably, several AMC and FX titles, including Preacher, Kevin Can F**k Himself, and Into the Badlands, are exiting by August 19.
Lastly, animated hits like Kung Fu Panda 4 and The Boss Baby will also be removed in the latter half of the month, marking the end of availability for some family-friendly content.
