Exoprimal PS5 vs Xbox Series Comparison: Which Platform Is Best

Capcom’s Exoprimal is now available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and if you’re on the fence about which version to pick up, read ahead.

Exoprimal features a single graphics modes on PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. In terms of graphical settings, the PS5 version offers higher quality shadows, reflections and a more detailed draw distance on some assets compared to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions. Both Xbox versions appear to be identical in terms of graphical settings, though the Xbox Series S exhibits texture clipping.

 

In terms of image quality, the game runs at a dynamic resolution, with 4K (2160p) and 1800p being the highest and lowest values on both PS5 and Xbox Series X, respectively. However, the average resolution is generally higher on the Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S also runs the game at a dynamic resolution, with 1440p and 1260p being the highest and lowest values, respectively.

With regards to performance, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions largely run at a stable frame rate of 60 fps, though Xbox Series X offers more stable performance compared to PS5 during stressful moments. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S has problems maintaining a stable 60 fps during combat.

Lastly, the Xbox Series S version delivers the fastest load times of the three console versions, though the difference minor.

All in all, the Xbox Series X version of Exoprimal delivers the most stable performance while also maintaining a higher average resolution in comparison the PS5 version, and, given the option, is the console version to get.

The game immerses players in the role of an “exofighter,” a soldier equipped with an exosuit, as they engage in thrilling battles against hordes of dinosaurs.
