Ubisoft has updated Far Cry 5 to 1.15 and Far Cry: New Dawn to 1.06. This is a small update for the game that implements minor bug fixes.
Far Cry 5 was originally released back in March 2018. The game then continued to receive post-launch updates and even had a successor called Far Cry: New Dawn. This was a sequel that was set after the events of Far Cry 5 and also featured the return of some familiar faces.
Far Cry 5 and Far Cry: New Dawn were both incredibly successful for Ubisoft. They have just announced Far Cry 6 which is due out in early 2021. This new update for both games is under 100 MB.
This is the extent of this Far Cry 5 and Far Cry: New Dawn update. This is not a new thing for Ubisoft as they have also updated Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins recently, and these updates were similarly offering minor stability fixes.
In this case, there doesn’t appear to be anything major that is a part of this update. If there are any changes, they haven’t been revealed by Ubisoft. It is most likely a minor update that could add a link to purchase or pre-order Far Cry 6 in the main game. This is usually the case when it comes to minor patches that are released for older games.
Far Cry 6 will feature Giancarlo Esposito, who is known for his portray of Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. The launch trailer showed his character teaching a kid how to rule a country as a dictator. The extent of his role remains unknown but he is featured prominently in the marketing campaign.
