Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Comparison Highlights Switch 2’s Impressive Visual Fidelity

Square Enix has released a new visual comparison video for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, offering a detailed look at how the upcoming Switch 2 version stacks up against more powerful platforms. The footage, which has been shared on Weibo and later uploaded to YouTube, showcases scenes from the game running across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Switch 2. The results are surprisingly impressive, with the Switch 2 version holding its own despite its hardware limitations.

In the video, viewers can observe that the Switch 2 manages to maintain a strong visual presentation, even when compared to its higher-end counterparts. Square Enix previously confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will run at 30 frames per second on Switch 2. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions feature both a graphics mode and a performance mode, with the latter running at 60 frames per second.

Although specific technical details regarding the Xbox Series version have not been officially disclosed, it is expected to mirror the PS5 configuration. This would mean a native 4K resolution at 30 FPS and a dynamic 4K mode capable of reaching 60 FPS. Meanwhile, the PC version offers the most customization options, though the visual differences between all versions appear minimal beyond resolution and frame rate.

The new comparison highlights the technical advancements of the Switch 2, especially in its ability to balance visual quality and stable performance. While the platform may not match the raw power of current-generation consoles, the results in this comparison indicate a significant improvement in capability for Nintendo’s new hardware.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is scheduled to release on January 22, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. Fans can view the full comparison video on YouTube to see how each version performs side by side.
