Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy Devs Can’t Talk About Xbox Port, Hopeful To Bring It To More Players In Future

The Final Fantasy VII Remake project developers have nothing to say about an Xbox port of the trilogy at this time, though they would like to bring it to more players in the future.

During an interview with Danny Peña on YouTube, Final Fantasy VII Remake project director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase were asked about the possibility of Square Enix bringing the trilogy over to Xbox. In response, Hamaguchi stated that while there isn’t anything he can say about the project appearing on Microsoft’s current-gen consoles at this time, Square Enix’s vision is to bring the trilogy to as many players as possible.

Hamaguchi mentioned that the player base for the first two entries in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy has been expanded through their release on PC, and he is hopeful that there may be opportunities that can be explored for expand it further, suggesting that a port to other platforms may be on the cards.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake project director had shared similar sentiments during a recent interview with 4Gamer. He had mentioned that the development team will continue to challenge itself in order to make the Final Fantasy VII Remake series available to more fans in 2025. He also talked about the upcoming PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, reminding fans that it will be released on January 23, 2025. He added that Square Enix will be holding a sale to commemorate the release of the PC version up until February 5, 2025. Hamaguchi hopes that those who have yet to try the game will take this opportunity to do so.

Earlier, the Xbox Two podcast co-host Jez Corden had claimed that Sony had not locked down the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy for good as a console exclusive, and that it will eventually come to Xbox.
