Before we delve into the best settings for Final Fantasy XVI on PC, make sure you’ve updated your GPU drivers and Windows to their latest respective versions. Additionally, disable or close any unnecessary background applications in order to reduce the CPU overhead as much as possible. The settings detailed ahead should provide a more optimized balance between graphics and frame rate compared to the presets available in-game.

As seen in the video above, despite dropping most of the graphics settings to their lowest, Final Fantasy XVI delivers highly inconsistent performance. Even after setting the frame limit to 30 fps via the Steam Deck OS, the game will still see drops into the low 20s. As such, it currently isn’t a recommended way to play the game.
