In the original Nintendo Switch version of Scarlet and Violet, only around 15 Pokemon could be spawned at a time. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be able to spawn more than 22 Pokemon at once. As such, the improvements go beyond just visual upgrades.

In addition to the above graphical and gameplay improvements, Nintendo has confirmed that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for the Switch 2 will run at an improved frame rate. Whether this means the game will run at a more stable 30 fps or target a higher frame rate like 40 or 60 fps remains to be seen.
