Microsoft has confirmed the next round of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, with five titles scheduled to exit the subscription service on November 30. The list includes a diverse selection of role-playing, action, and family-friendly games, making it one of the more varied sets of removals in recent months. As always, subscribers have until the end of the month to either play these games or buy them at a discount before they are removed from the library.
The games leaving the service are Barbie: Project Friendship, Lords of the Fallen, Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler II, and SteamWorld Build. For younger players and families, Barbie: Project Friendship was a cheerful addition. Developed by Xaloc Studios and Casual Brothers, it puts players in Malibu with Barbie and her friends as they complete various quests, unlock mini-games, and work to fix up a local community center. The title first launched in October 2024 across all major platforms, offering an easy-to-pick-up adventure that focuses on cooperation and character customization.
Lords of the Fallen offers a completely different vibe. The 2023 sequel to the dark fantasy Soulslike challenges players to travel between two parallel realms: Axiom, the world of the living, and Umbral, the dimension of the dead. Progress depends on mastering both areas, using the transition between them to outsmart difficult enemies and find hidden paths. Released for PC and current-generation consoles, it has been a popular choice for those looking for a tough action RPG experience.
The departures also include both Octopath Traveler and its sequel, two prime examples of the “HD-2D” style that combines pixel art with modern lighting and visual effects. The first game lets players follow eight separate character stories set across the world of Orsterra, all supported by a deep turn-based combat system centered on Break and Boost mechanics. Octopath Traveler II keeps that structure but moves the journey to the world of Solistia, adding features like a toggleable day-night cycle that changes how players explore and interact with characters. Both games have received high praise for their presentation, music, and strategic depth.
The final game on the list is SteamWorld Build, a mix of city-builder and dungeon crawler set in the larger SteamWorld universe. Players must build a town on the surface of a dying planet while also managing a mining operation below it, balancing resources and population needs as they search for the technology required to escape. This unique blend of management gameplay and underground exploration has given Game Pass subscribers a distinctive strategy experience since its 2023 release.
Xbox Game Pass continues to operate with a rotating library, cycling games in and out as licensing deals change and new titles are added. The service’s main appeal remains the day-one access to first-party Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard games, along with a growing number of third-party titles. With these five games leaving by the end of November, subscribers can soon expect Microsoft to announce a new batch of additions, keeping up the service’s usual schedule of updates across PC, console, and the wider Xbox ecosystem.
