Epic Games is preparing another star-studded lineup for this year’s Fortnitemares event, with multiple collaborations set to headline the Halloween festivities. According to prominent Fortnite insider HYPEX, the breakout Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters will take center stage alongside Scooby Doo’s gang and the horror icon Ghostface. Unlike many past crossovers, the event is said to feature more than just character skins, hinting at a broader suite of content.
Released in June 2025, KPop Demon Hunters quickly became a cultural sensation. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and streaming on Netflix, the animated musical urban fantasy follows the K-pop girl group HUNTR/X, who secretly double as demon hunters. The movie, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, was praised for its striking animation, original soundtrack, and fusion of Korean mythology with pop culture. It has since broken records on Netflix, becoming the platform’s most-watched original title with over 325 million views, and even briefly dominated the U.S. box office during its sing-along theatrical release.
The timing of the collaboration aligns with Fortnite’s strategy of tying major brand crossovers to seasonal events. Past Fortnitemares updates have featured well-known horror franchises, and adding KPop Demon Hunters complements this tradition with a pop-culture hit that blends music, fantasy, and supernatural themes. While full details have not been confirmed, HYPEX described the collaboration as “stacked,” fueling speculation that themed gameplay modes, cosmetics, and possibly even musical elements could be part of the package.
For fans, this crossover also reflects Fortnite’s expanding role as a cultural hub that merges gaming, film, and music. With Sony and Netflix already developing a sequel and spin-off short film for KPop Demon Hunters, the Fortnite event will likely further elevate the property’s global presence.
Fortnitemares 2025 launches this October and promises a mix of scares, nostalgia, and spectacle. Between the arrival of Scooby Doo’s mystery-solving crew, the return of Ghostface, and the flashy debut of HUNTR/X, this year’s Halloween celebration is shaping up to be one of Fortnite’s most ambitious yet.
