Forza Horizon 6 Confirms Cross-Save Across All Platforms

by Greg Martin

Forza Horizon 6 will support cross-save across all platforms, allowing players to carry their progress between different systems. The confirmation comes directly from the game’s official social media account ahead of the title’s planned release later this year.

The Forza Horizon account shared the announcement in a brief statement: “Thanks to cross-save and cross-play, you can play anywhere with anyone!” The message confirms not only cross-save functionality but also full cross-play support, reinforcing Microsoft’s ongoing emphasis on unified ecosystems and player connectivity.

Forza Horizon 6 is an upcoming open-world racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. The title was officially revealed during the 2025 Tokyo Game Show and later appeared at the January 2026 Xbox Developer Direct, where additional details about its setting and scale were outlined.

The game is set in a fictionalized representation of Japan and features what has been described as the largest map in the history of the Forza Horizon franchise. The world is centered around a stylized version of Tokyo and includes recognizable locations such as Mt. Haruna. This expansive environment is designed to support a wide range of racing disciplines, exploration activities, and online events.

Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled to launch on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows. On PC and Xbox platforms, the game will be available day one through Xbox Game Pass. A PlayStation 5 version has also been confirmed, though it is expected to arrive later in 2026.

The inclusion of cross-save ensures that players can move seamlessly between supported platforms without losing progress, vehicles, or customization data. Combined with cross-play, the feature allows players on different systems to race together while maintaining a shared progression profile. This approach mirrors recent first-party Microsoft releases that aim to remove platform barriers where possible.
