Frostpunk 2 has rolled out Patch 1.4, aligning with the game’s console release and finally introducing full controller support for PC players. This update brings a completely reworked UI designed for smooth navigation with gamepads, alongside a dynamic circular menu system inspired by the console edition of the first game. According to developer 11 Bit Studios, these improvements were built with community feedback in mind, aiming to make crucial decision-making more intuitive while preserving the challenging nature of city survival.
Beyond controller support, the update applies key gameplay adjustments and prologue balance changes. Homeless citizens will now face more realistic risks of illness, while the heating system has been rebalanced to reduce the required energy investment. Several visual improvements, including parallax animations for district panels, also enhance the presentation. Bug fixes and stability improvements round out the patch, making this one of the most significant updates since launch.
