God of War developer Santa Monica Studio is working on a new IP, and the project is progressing well, according to a new report.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier took to the gaming enthusiast forums Reset Era to respond to a question from a fellow member regarding information on the development status of God of War director Cory Barlog’s next game at Santa Monica Studio. In response, he mentioned that Barlog’s game is the studio’s “next big thing.” Last he spoke to someone in the know, which was a month or two ago, the project was going well.

Last year, the LinkedIn profile of Glauco Longhi, Character Supervisor at Santa Monica Studio, revealed that the studio’s next game is a brand new IP. Longhi had Currently, the Character Supervisor is once again working with Santa Monica Studio. In his resume, he mentioned that the God of War developer

Meanwhile, it appears that a new God of War title may also be in development in parallel at the studio, possibly directed by God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams. According to an earlier job listing for the position of Combat Designer, developer Santa Monica Studio was looking to recruit someone with knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok (2022) combat systems, mechanics and enemies for the development of an unannounced title.
