The recent update for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital’s sim racing game, Gran Turismo 7, appears to have upgraded the PS5 Pro version with the new PSSR 2 upscaling.
Members of gaming enthusiast forum NeoGAF are reporting that the recently rolled out update 1.68 for Gran Turismo 7 has upgraded the PS5 Pro version with the new PSSR 2, removing noise artifacts seen with the prior version of the upscaling technology. Read ahead for a screenshot comparison.

Notable improvements in image quality with the apparently upgraded version of PSSR include better draw distance, reduced shimmering on finer objects like the roadside grass and the barrier fence, and a more temporally stable image than before.
The official patch notes for Gran Turismo 7 update 1.68 make no mention of an upgrade to PSSR upscaling for the PS5 Pro version of the game. Alongside three new cars, four additional events were added to the World Circuits mode. These races expand the available challenges across several tracks, giving players more opportunities to test their vehicles in competitive scenarios.
GT7 was developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The eighth entry in the Gran Turismo series was released on March 4, 2022, exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It takes advantage of the current-gen console’s improved processing, ray-tracing capability, custom solid-state drive storage, Tempest Engine, and DualSense controller to deliver features like advanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, ray traced reflections during replays on base hardware and in-game on the PS5 Pro, 3D spatial audio, and faster loading times. On PS5 Pro, the game also support PSSR AI upscaling technology to resolve more graphical detail while maintaining crisp image quality.
