Rockstar Games is reportedly confident in the November 19, 2026, release date for GTA VI, as rumors regarding the game’s price begin to emerge.
During the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Podcast, co-host and known insider Tom Henderson talked about Rockstar Games’ confidence in the release timing, expected pricing strategies, and the wider impact of GTA VI on both the industry and internet infrastructure.
No Further Delays
According to Henderson, Rockstar Games now appears confident enough that GTA VI will hit its targeted release date of November 19, 2026. While his comments were predictions rather than reports he had heard from sources, Henderson suggested that Rockstar Games is unlikely to delay the game again, particularly given the immense anticipation surrounding it and the company’s need to shift public conversation back toward it.
GTA VI Launch May Break The Internet
One of the more noteworthy points raised was the potential strain GTA VI could place on internet infrastructure. Henderson joked that launch day could become “the least productive day” in the industry, with millions of players downloading the game simultaneously. To mitigate this, he speculated that Rockstar may need to open digital preloads far earlier than usual, possibly as much as a month before launch, though he acknowledged there is no obligation for the company to do so.
Higher Than Standard AAA-Game Pricing
Henderson expects that GTA VI will likely break from the standard $70 AAA-game price point, with a base edition priced at around $80. Beyond that, Rockstar is expected to push premium editions aggressively, including deluxe versions priced at $100 or more, higher-tier editions around $130, and potentially a collector’s edition reaching as high as $300. As with previous Rockstar Games releases, these premium versions may bundle in-game currency and digital bonuses, though Henderson expressed skepticism about the overall value of the company’s collector’s editions compared to those offered by other publishers.
While GTA VI may break pricing trends, the insider believes most AAA games will remain at $70 for now. At the same time, he’s seeing a growing shift toward “AAA-quality” games launching at below standard price points, as publishers attempt to reach wider audiences in an increasingly competitive market.
PC Version
Henderson expects that GTA VI’s PC release will lag behind consoles by around a year. This would essentially mean that the PC version will launch towards the end of 2027 or later.
GTA VI is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
