Arc System Works has confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 will launch on April 9, marking a significant update for the fighting game alongside the reveal of returning character Jam Kuradoberi. The announcement was made during the Arc World Tour, with additional details pointing to broader changes beyond a standard patch.
Version 2.0 is positioned as a major overhaul, described as a refreshed overall experience that brings substantial system-level adjustments. The update includes gameplay reworks, faster load times, and improved anti-cheat measures. Core roster characters such as Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Leo Whitefang, and Nagoriyuki will also receive new special moves as part of the update.
The release coincides closely with Sol Badguy’s birthday on April 10, reinforcing the update’s timing as a milestone moment for the game. Alongside the update, Season Pass 5 is expected to go live, introducing a new set of fighters.
Jam Kuradoberi has been officially confirmed as one of the upcoming characters included in the new season pass. Robo Ky has also been announced as part of the lineup, with both characters previously appearing in community speculation and developer teases. They are expected to be two of four total fighters planned for the season.
Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 follows the conclusion of Season 4, which featured crossover character Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners. With the upcoming update and new content rollout, Arc System Works appears to be positioning the title for another phase of active support and competitive play.
