Halo Studios Leak Suggests Live-Service Halo Game and Halo: Combat Evolved Remake, Reveal Expected Next Week

A recent leak from well-known YouTuber Rebs Gaming has stirred excitement across the Halo community, hinting at several new projects from Halo Studios. According to the content creator, the developer is preparing to reveal at least one major Halo project during the Halo World Championship, scheduled for October 24. The event’s official program lists a “project update” at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, followed by a “project deep dive” an hour later. This timeline has fueled speculation that fans are on the verge of witnessing the dawn of a new era for the Halo franchise. Halo Studios community manager Unyshek further teased the reveal, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Excited to share more about one of the projects we’ve been working on.”

Rebs Gaming’s latest report expands upon his earlier claims regarding a Halo: Combat Evolved remake and an unannounced multiplayer title. The YouTuber previously stated that the Combat Evolved remake features sprinting and other modern mechanics, running on a hybrid engine that merges Unreal Engine 5 with a modified Halo Reach Blam engine. The project is reportedly co-developed by the virtual studio Abstraction.

Additional confirmation came from Halo Leaks, another insider known for accurate reports on the series. According to Rebs Gaming, Halo Leaks not only validated the Combat Evolved remake details but also shared confidence in their own sources. They further mentioned that a new multiplayer project is in development, separate from the remake. Rebs explained that this multiplayer game is designed as a live-service title, drawing comparisons to Fortnite’s long-term update model. However, he clarified that no details suggest it will be a battle royale, leaving its specific gameplay direction open to speculation.

The YouTuber also cited a credible source who claims that two Halo projects are scheduled to release next year. Given Halo Studios’ recent statements about celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary in 2026, releasing both the remake and the live-service multiplayer game in 2025 could be a strategic lead-up to that milestone celebration. As Halo Studios recently stated, “Let’s not forget that 2026 is Halo’s 25th anniversary and we plan to celebrate the occasion in style with the whole community. Stay tuned to HaloWC this year where we’ll share the initial details of what’s to come.”

Another noteworthy aspect of the report involves the integration of artificial intelligence in development. Rebs Gaming cited an unnamed source with ties to Microsoft, who claimed, “Generative AI is apparently woven into every aspect of development, such as enemy AI and terrain generation. I think what they’re mostly doing is that and then touching up the work with human hands.” The source further added that developers are expected to maintain tight deadlines, relying on AI for tasks ranging from scheduling to content creation. While the accuracy of this claim remains uncertain, it aligns with Microsoft’s substantial investment—reportedly 80 billion dollars—into AI research and innovation.

Although these details are unconfirmed and should be regarded as speculative, the timing of the Halo World Championship suggests that official news could arrive soon.
