Sunblink and Sanrio have released Content Update 4 for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and it is now available as a free update across Nintendo Switch platforms, Steam, and PlayStation 5. The update introduces new customization options, limited-time seasonal content, and several improvements designed to make everyday play smoother.
One of the headline additions is a new amphibian-inspired avatar type, giving players another option when personalizing their character. The update also expands gardening activities with Moon-themed planting, encouraging players to experiment with new locations and mechanics tied to the lunar setting. Alongside these features, the update brings a selection of quality-of-life adjustments, including inventory improvements that aim to reduce friction during exploration and crafting.
Update 4 also adds new visitors to Friendship Island, along with hints surrounding a mysterious fish that players may encounter during their adventures. While details remain scarce, the tease suggests there is more waiting to be uncovered as players spend time with the new content.
The seasonal Lighttime Jubilee event has also returned, this time with a stronger visual focus inspired by the Northern Lights. Running from December 18 through January 15, the event tasks players with helping Badtz-maru and Chococat collect light bulbs to illuminate areas across Friendship Island. At the same time, the Little Twin Stars host the Aurora Amicus, also known as the Friendship Lights celebration. Collected light bulbs can be exchanged for newly added glowing outfits and furniture items.
As the event period wraps up, players can also expect the arrival of a new character emerging from Icy Peak, making his first appearance on Friendship Island after a long hibernation.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Apple Arcade.
