Highguard has already been delisted from digital storefronts ahead of its scheduled shutdown, according to a post shared by deal tracker Wario64. The removal appears to have taken place shortly before the game’s servers are set to go offline on March 12, effectively ending access for new players even before the final shutdown date.
The free-to-play PvP raid shooter was originally announced to be shutting down less than two months after its launch. Developer Wildlight Entertainment confirmed the decision earlier in a message addressed to the community, explaining that the game would permanently close its servers on March 12, 2026.
“Today we’re sharing difficult news. We have made the decision to permanently shut down Highguard on March 12,” the studio said in its announcement. At the time, the developer stated that servers would remain online until that date, giving players a limited window to return and play before the service ended.
The studio also reflected on the game’s short lifespan and the reception it received following release. “Since launch, more than 2 million players stepped into Highguard’s world. You shared feedback, created content, and many believed in what we were building. For that, we are deeply grateful,” the team said.
Despite reaching that player milestone, the developer acknowledged that the game struggled to maintain the active player base needed to sustain the project. “Despite the passion and hard work of our team, we have not been able to build a sustainable player base to support the game long term,” the studio explained.
With the title now delisted ahead of the shutdown date, the brief remaining period before March 12 will likely be limited to players who already added the game to their libraries prior to its removal.
