The download size for Team Cherry’s latest Metroidvania video game, Hollow Knight: Silksong, has been revealed.
PlayStationSize on Twitter/X has revealed the download size for the PS4 and PS5 versions of Hollow Knight: Silksong, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. Meanwhile, the game’s Xbox, Nintendo, and Steam store pages have been updated with the respective download size for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The upcoming Metroidvania title will take up a very modest amount of storage space across all platforms. That said, those with limited available storage on the internal drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.

No pre-load for Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available. Therefore, the Metroidvania game will come with the day one update pre-installed at launch on September 4, 2025. The file size of the PS5 version (2.5 GB) is smallest, followed by the Nintendo Switch version (2.6 GB), followed by the Nintendo Switch 2 (4 GB) and PS4 (4 GB) versions, and then the Xbox Series X|S (8 GB), Xbox One (8 GB), and PC versions (8 GB).
No early review copies were sent out to the press for Hollow Knight: Silksong. As a result, fans should expect reviews to arrive sometime after launch day.
