Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch 4 Public Beta Adds Advanced Input Settings and New Fixes Ahead of Console Update

by Ali Haider

Team Cherry has released a new public beta (v1.0.29280) for Hollow Knight: Silksong on PC, introducing several refinements as part of Patch 4. While the main update is already live with expanded controller detection and a community-backed Simplified Chinese translation from Team Cart Fix, this public-beta build includes an additional layer of improvements—most notably the restoration of the old input system for users facing controller compatibility issues, especially on macOS. The newly added Advanced Settings menu allows players to switch between input types such as MFi and XInput for finer control over gameplay preferences.

The developers have also resolved several key gameplay issues affecting combat encounters and player interactions. Fixes include restored damage behaviors for specific enemies and refinements to certain attack animations. These changes are undergoing a brief testing phase before being fully deployed across all PC platforms, with the same patch content expected to roll out to consoles in the near future.
