“The Directors do not expect any significant change to the current strategy and objectives of the Company,” states the report. “The Company will continue to develop video games primarily for release on PlayStation consoles.”

In its annual report and financial statements for the year ended March 31, 2023, Firesprite had revealed that it was working on the development of multiple unannounced games “The Company worked on the software development of multiple video games yet to be announced,” the report stated.

As for the identity of these unannounced titles, it’s possible that one of them may be a PSVR2 project while another is likely a new IP for PS5. It’s also possible that the developer is working as a support studio for one of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s other first-party projects. One can only speculate at this point.

Firesprite’s previous title, Horizon Call of the Mountain, is an action-adventure game developed as a launch title for the PSVR2. It was released on February 22, 2023. Players take on the role of Ryas, a character known for his expertise in climbing and archery. He carries a hunter’s bow, which is used to battle the mechanical enemies encountered throughout the journey. Although the overall structure follows a mostly linear progression, players are given the freedom to explore branching routes and tackle objectives in different ways. As the adventure unfolds, new equipment and tools become available, improving both traversal and combat.
