The Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen gives players access to the mystery gift event tickets. Here’s how you can get them.
The long-lost mystery gift event tickets from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available in the newly released Nintendo Switch version, and you don’t need any external distribution events or special downloads to get them. As shared by YouTuber Osirus and confirmed via a Japanese speedrunner, both the Mystic Ticket and Aurora Ticket are now obtainable simply by progressing through the game normally. How To Get Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen Mystery Gift Event Tickets & What They Unlock
Follow the steps below to acquire both the mystery gift event tickets in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.
Beat the Elite Four
To unlock the event tickets, all you need to do is defeat the Elite Four and become the Champion. Once you complete the Pokémon League, check your Key Items pocket. There, you will automatically find:
- Mystic Ticket
- Aurora Ticket
There’s no separate download, no Mystery Gift menu access, and no time-limited distribution required. The tickets are directly added to your inventory after clearing the Elite Four.
What the Mystic Ticket Unlocks
The Mystic Ticket grants access to Naval Rock, a special location that was previously only available through real-world distribution events. At Naval Rock, you can encounter:
- Lugia – Level 70
- Ho-Oh – Level 70
To encounter Lugia, head right and descend deep into the lower levels of Naval Rock. Additionally, in order to find Ho-Oh, go left from the entrance and climb to the summit. Both Pokémon appear at Level 70, making them powerful additions to your team. You can save in front of them before interacting, allowing you to soft reset for a shiny hunt if desired.
What the Aurora Ticket Unlocks
The Aurora Ticket grants access to Birth Island, home of one of the most elusive Mythical Pokémon. Here you can encounter:

Deoxys – Level 30
Deoxys appears at Level 30 and, like Lugia and Ho-Oh, you can save before the encounter to attempt shiny resets. However, it’s worth noting that the shiny odds are the original full odds of 1 in 8,192, meaning this can be a very long hunt.
