Borderlands 4 has officially launched, and Gearbox is celebrating by giving players the chance to secure exclusive loot through Twitch Drops and SHiFT rewards. Players can earn unique cosmetics, two Legendary weapons, and the Hazard Pay weapon skin simply by tuning into livestreams or linking accounts.
From September 11 through September 30, viewers who watch Borderlands 4 streams on Twitch can unlock Legendary loot that scales with their Vault Hunter’s level. Additionally, players who opt into newsletters via their SHiFT Account can claim the exclusive Hazard Pay weapon skin at launch. These rewards offer a strong incentive to engage with the community during the game’s release window.
How Twitch Drops Work in Borderlands 4
- Watch, Drop, and Roll Skin: Watching any official Borderlands 4 or Gearbox channel livestream for 20 minutes grants the ECHO-4 Drone Skin.
- Forsaken Chaos Legendary Shotgun: Watch any Borderlands 4 stream for 2 hours between September 11 and September 30 to claim this community-named shotgun.
- Midnight Defiance Legendary Sniper Rifle: Watch partnered creator streams for 2 hours in the same timeframe to unlock this sniper rifle.
- Important Note: The shotgun and sniper rifle must be earned separately, requiring a total of 4 hours of watch time.
All Twitch Drops must be claimed through your Twitch Drops Inventory and redeemed via your linked SHiFT Account. Once logged into Borderlands 4, rewards can be collected through the Reward Center in your inventory. All gear scales to your Vault Hunter’s level at the time of claiming, with a minimum level of 5.
How to Claim the Hazard Pay Weapon Skin
- Create or log into a SHiFT Account.
- Link your platform account under the Gaming Platforms tab.
- Opt into newsletters and marketing. This is required to unlock the Hazard Pay skin.
- Log into Borderlands 4 at launch with your SHiFT Account linked to receive the cosmetic.
Players should also keep an eye on emails from Gearbox and 2K, as SHiFT codes for Golden Keys and additional rewards are often distributed this way.
Borderlands 4 is the next mainline entry in Gearbox Software’s looter-shooter series, published by 2K. The game released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 12, 2025, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release scheduled for October 3, 2025.
