by Ali Haider

If you have been waiting to jump into Battlefield 6 before its October release, this is your chance. Open Beta Weekend 2 is now live, running from August 14 at 8:00 UTC (1 AM PT) until August 18 at the same time. The best part? You do not need a code—anyone can join in.

Step 1: Pick Your Platform

You can play the beta on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or the EA app

Step 2: Install and Prepare

On PC, make sure Secure Boot is enabled—it’s required to play. EA provides a guide on EA Help if you’re not sure how to do this. Also note that Battlefield 6 uses EA Javelin Anticheat, a custom-built system designed to combat cheats in first-person shooters.

Step 3: Discover What’s New in Weekend 2

All the maps and modes from Weekend 1 are back, plus:

  • Empire State – A new infantry-only map set in Brooklyn, New York
  • Rush – Attack or defend M-COM stations in a battle for territory
  • Squad Death Match – Four squads race to reach the kill target first

Step 4: Earn Rewards Before Launch

By completing challenges during Weekend 2, you can unlock:

  • Bat Company Dog Tag
  • War Machine Vehicle Skin
  • Striking Distance Weapon Package

These items will be yours when the game launches.

Step 5: Check the PC Requirements

Minimum (1080p at 30 FPS, Low Settings):

  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Arc A380

  • RAM: 16 GB Dual Channel (2133 MHz)
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • DirectX: 12
