Hunt: Showdown Update 2.1 brings significant changes to the game, including gunplay, melee weapons, gameplay mechanics, and traits. Gunplay has been rebalanced with changes to throwing tools, reduced zoom for Deadeye weapons, and reduced ballistic performance for silenced guns. Melee weapons like the Throwing Spear and Throwing Knives have also been adjusted for damage output, attack speed, and overall usability. A reworked drop helper system for scoped weapons has been added to enhance accuracy when considering distance. Updates to traits, bounty token values, and weapon unlock systems have been made to create a more streamlined and engaging experience. Other modifications address issues like projectile penetration, stamina consumption, and various bug fixes.

The update also revises several traits, such as Pain Sense and Lightfoot, and adjusts the rarity of content in the Scorched Earth Battle Pass and other downloadable content. New UI elements aim to improve the user experience with more intuitive navigation and clearer trait differentiation. The game world has been enhanced with changes to spawn points and the inclusion of new Hellborn spawns, among other level design updates. With the introduction of over 400 bug fixes, the update seeks to refine gameplay mechanics, improve player movement, and resolve lingering issues to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.

Gunplay

  • Throwing Tools now require aiming to be thrown.
  • Reduced zoom level on Deadeye weapons.
  • Reduced ballistic performance of silenced Vetterli, Frontier, and Nagant.

Scope Updates

  • Added a drop helper for gauging distance to targets.

Melee Weapons & Tools

  • Throwing Spear:
    • Base throw damage reduced to 200.
    • Leg throw damage reduced to 110.
    • Melee damage reduced: Light attack (70), Heavy attack (147).
    • Pulling spear damage reduced.
    • Light melee attack speed reduced.
    • Velocity reduced to 40m/s.
    • Sprinting while charging/aiming requires Surefoot Trait.
  • Rebalanced melee weapons, except Katana.
  • Katana: Increased stamina consumption.
  • Throwing Knives: Increased damage, throw rate, and accuracy.

Gameplay

  • Bulwark Trait no longer saves player from Bomb Lance explosion.
  • Beetle spawns enabled in Soul Survivor.
  • Restoration now refills Dark Sight Boost with Bounty Token.
  • Rebalanced projectile penetration system.
  • Compact, Medium, and Long bullets adjusted for wall penetration damage.

Meta

  • Bounty Tokens normalized to 125 value.
  • Random Weapon Family unlocks reduced from 3 to 1.
  • Fire and Choke Beetle unlocks moved to Bloodline Rank 27.
  • Dauntless Trait unlock moved to Bloodline Rank 1.

Trait Changes

  • Conduit: Solo effect—investigating one clue gives two clues’ progress.
  • Pain Sense: Highlights bleeding, burning, or poisoned hunters in Dark Sight. Cost increased to 3 points.
  • Lightfoot: Solo effect reduces noise when crouched.
  • Berserker: Now a scarce trait.
  • Bulwark: No longer protects against Bomb Lance explosion.

Rarity Updates

  • Scorched Earth Battle Pass items upgraded in rarity.
  • Double or Nothing DLC: Hyde Pax skin rarity updated to rare.
  • Dark Tribute: Bad Hand and Union Suit rarity updated to Legendary.

UI

  • Paper doll now visible in Gear screens.
  • Play button added to top navigation.
  • Filters and sorting remembered between missions.

Hunt: Showdown is a first-person multiplayer bounty-hunting game set in the late 19th century.
