The file size of Nintendo and Koei Tecmo’s upcoming hack and slash game, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment, has been revealed.

Fans have begun getting a hold of Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment download cards several days prior to its launch. Twitter/X user Genki_JPN has shared screenshots of the packaging of a download card, revealing the game’s file size. They also mentioned the tagline stated on the box – “Now, the beginning of the ravages of war is revealed.”

As per the packaging of the Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment download card, the game has a file size of 44 GB. In comparison, it is around four times the file size of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which weighs in at 11.1 GB. This is expected, as the upcoming title is designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, with more graphical detail and, therefore, a larger amount of data to store.

For the uninitiated, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment continues the formula of earlier Hyrule Warriors entries, blending the characters and lore of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series with the fast-paced combat mechanics of Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors. Its story unfolds during the Imprisoning War, an era referenced in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Princess Zelda is inadvertently sent back in time through the power of her secret stone to the period when Hyrule was first established. There, she joins forces with King Rauru, Queen Sonia, and the six sages to thwart Ganondorf’s attempt to conquer the land.

Nintendo officially revealed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on April 2, 2025, during a Nintendo Direct presentation that also showcased the Nintendo Switch 2. The reveal trailer highlighted gameplay mechanics and featured Princess Zelda and Rauru as playable characters battling various foes.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is scheduled to launch on November 6, 2025, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.
