Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PS5 Pro Enhancements Detailed Ahead of Launch

by Greg Martin

Bethesda Softworks has officially unveiled the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro enhancements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, just ahead of the game’s launch on April 17. In a detailed blog post by Anne Lewis, Senior Content Lead at Bethesda, the development team highlighted a wide range of platform-specific improvements that aim to deliver a deeply immersive experience for PlayStation players.

The game, which is set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, follows Indiana Jones on a globetrotting adventure through iconic and historically rich locations such as the Vatican, the Egyptian desert, the jungles of Sukhothai, and the icy terrain of the Himalayas. Designed as a single-player, first-person adventure, the title combines action, exploration, and puzzle-solving, all brought to life with enhanced fidelity on Sony’s hardware.

One of the key highlights is the integration of DualSense controller features. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are used extensively throughout the game, offering physical responses to gameplay actions like whip traversal, combat sequences, or using items like a lighter and a camera. The controller’s lightbar will also reflect gameplay status. For example, it glows yellow during combat, pulses red when health is low, and turns green when health is restored using consumables.

MachineGames has also optimized The Great Circle for PlayStation’s hardware to deliver what the studio calls a “seamless experience.” Players will benefit from frictionless loading, selective language installation, and SSD-based improvements. On both the standard PS5 and PS5 Pro, the game targets a stable 60 frames per second while delivering high-resolution visuals.

Visual fidelity has received a significant upgrade through the use of ray tracing, which enhances the realism of lighting and reflections. The game’s global illumination system offers dynamic and atmospheric lighting across the various environments. Audio immersion has also been prioritized, with support for 3D audio and haptic rumble during key moments in both gameplay and cinematic scenes.

To further enhance accessibility and player engagement, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will support Community Game Help. This feature allows players to view tips and strategies from the community, with detailed breakdowns of objectives and sub-tasks to assist with progression.

On the PlayStation 5 Pro, the game runs at native 4K resolution and leverages enhanced ray tracing capabilities. Bethesda promises improved frame rate consistency and elevated image clarity on the Pro model. According to Production Director John Jennings, the PS5 Pro version allows players to appreciate the meticulous environmental detail crafted by MachineGames.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle releases on PlayStation 5 on April 17, with early access available up to two days earlier for those who pre-order the Premium Edition.
