Insider Claims Forza Horizon 6 Will Be Set in Japan, Reveal Expected at Tokyo Game Show

A new report suggests that Forza Horizon 6 will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, with Japan confirmed as its setting. The claim comes from insider NateTheHate, who has a track record of accurate gaming leaks.

In a recent post on social media, Nate stated that the intention is for Microsoft and Playground Games to reveal Forza Horizon 6 during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which takes place in late September. He added that the game’s setting is Japan, making the event a fitting venue for its announcement. Nate also clarified that he has not heard any information about a possible Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.

This is not the first time the next installment in the racing series has been linked to Japan. Earlier this month, Australian car import company Cult & Classic appeared to hint at Forza Horizon 6 when it shared an Instagram post mentioning a developer from the series visiting its showroom to take photos of cars. The vehicle shown was a late-model Kei car, strongly associated with Japanese car culture. The post was quickly removed, fueling speculation that it revealed information prematurely.

The Forza Horizon series, developed by Playground Games and published under Xbox Game Studios, has become one of the most celebrated racing franchises due to its open-world design and expansive car roster. Fans have long requested Japan as a setting, citing its diverse landscapes and rich automotive heritage as an ideal backdrop for the franchise.

Reports also suggest that development on the next entry has been underway for several years. A job listing from May 2022 sought level designers for an upcoming AAA Forza Horizon title, indicating that the project has been in progress for at least three years.

While Microsoft has yet to confirm any details, the combination of insider reports, past leaks, and community anticipation suggests that the Tokyo Game Show may finally bring an official reveal.
