The future of Bloodborne on PC continues to look uncertain. Speaking during a recent discussion, industry insider Jeff Grubb reiterated that despite frequently checking on the situation, he has consistently heard that “nothing is happening with Bloodborne.” His remarks add to the ongoing frustration among fans who have long hoped for a modern release of the acclaimed PlayStation 4 title.
Grubb explained that the complexities of the project likely stem from developer FromSoftware’s involvement. According to him, “they can’t move on that unless FromSoftware is involved, and they’re busy.” He added that FromSoftware “seems like they don’t want to do it with Sony,” making it unlikely that a PC port will materialize anytime soon.
While Bloodborne appears stalled, Grubb suggested other PlayStation exclusives could arrive on PC sooner. He pointed to Gran Turismo 7 as a strong candidate, noting that it would likely benefit from the expanded audience. “Gran Turismo 7 should be on there at some point soon,” Grubb stated, while also mentioning Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake as a possible option.
Sony has steadily expanded its portfolio on PC in recent years, with studios like Nixxes handling ports for Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man Remastered, and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. However, the absence of Bloodborne remains notable, particularly given its reputation as one of the PlayStation 4’s most celebrated exclusives.
Released in 2015, Bloodborne is an action role-playing game by FromSoftware that immerses players in the Gothic city of Yharnam, plagued by a mysterious disease. The game is widely regarded as one of the greatest of its generation, praised for its combat design, atmosphere, and Lovecraft-inspired worldbuilding. Despite its legacy and strong sales of over seven million copies by 2022, fans still have no sign of a modern re-release or PC adaptation.
For now, Sony’s PC efforts appear to be moving in other directions, leaving Bloodborne enthusiasts to continue waiting—though perhaps with fading hope.
