Naughty Dog’s upcoming action-adventure game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, will have the deepest gameplay the studio has ever done.

During an interview on the latest episode of Sacred Symbols+, Naughty Dog president and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet director Neil Druckmann was asked if there was anything he wanted to say about it, such as when the studio will share more details on the upcoming title. In response, while he couldn’t say when him and his team will announce or show something new, he said that he’s very excited for it; perhaps as excited as he’s been for any game.

Druckmann further stated that Intergalatic: The Heretic Prophet will offer the deepest gameplay Naughty Dog has ever done, and that he can’t wait to show it off. It’s not surprising, then, that its gameplay has allegedly drawn comparisons with the player freedom offered by Elden Ring.

The Naughty Dog president also touched on the broader philosophy driving the upcoming project. With growing media scrutiny and fan speculation surrounding Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, he made it clear that his approach is to block out the noise and stay committed to his creative vision. “You just have to ignore and stick to your guns, and do what you believe in,” he said.

Druckmann also mentioned that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is now his top priority, and he’s begun saying no to other commitments in order to focus entirely on the game’s development.

Recently, it was revealed by Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet director Neil Druckmann that the game is all about being lonely. He pointed out that Naughty Dog has worked on several games that often have an AI-driven companion tag along with the player. With Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, it’ll be the opposite, as the game director wants the player to feel lost in a place that they have no idea about, and to wonder what happened on the planet, who its inhabitants are, and what their history is.
