Invincible VS Receives Mature Rating With Graphic Violence Details

by Salal Awan

Invincible VS has received an M for Mature 17+ rating from the ESRB, with detailed disclosures outlining the level of violence and graphic content players can expect.

According to the ESRB rating summary, Invincible VS is a three-on-three tag-based fighting game set within the Invincible universe. Players engage in close-quarters combat using punches, kicks, throws, and a wide range of special attacks, including weapons, vehicles, and elemental abilities, in order to deplete opponents’ life meters. Battles are described as featuring large blood-splatter effects and slow-motion moments that emphasize the impact of attacks.

The rating highlights that finishing moves play a significant role in the game’s presentation. When opponents are low on health, characters can perform finishing attacks that may result in decapitation or dismemberment. These sequences are not limited to gameplay alone, as cutscenes are also noted to depict additional instances of intense violence and graphic imagery.

The ESRB summary details several examples of this content, including scenes where a character’s head explodes, a character is repeatedly punched until brain matter is visible, and another character is struck by a weapon with organs and viscera shown on screen. Strong language is also present, with the word “f**k” appearing during the game.

Invincible VS is a high-performance 3v3 tag fighting game developed by Quarter Up and published by Skybound Games. The title is based on the Invincible comic book series and its Prime Video animated adaptation. It features a roster of 18 fighters drawn from the franchise, including Mark Grayson and Omni-Man, alongside an original character, Ella Mental. All characters are voiced by members of the show’s official cast.

The development team behind Invincible VS includes veterans who previously worked on the 2013 Killer Instinct reboot. The game places a strong emphasis on visceral combat, destructive environments, and fast-paced tag mechanics. In addition to its competitive modes, the title includes an original story mode written by the creative team behind the animated series.

Invincible VS is scheduled for a global release on April 30, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC via Steam.
