Filmmaker James Gunn has teased the existence of unannounced DC Universe games, suggesting that David Corenswet may be voicing Superman.
Speaking to Gamesradar+ during a recent Peacemaker season 2 press day, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn offered a small but meaningful update on the future of the DC Universe’s video game presence, confirming that development is moving forward on several game projects, and hinted that David Corenswet, the actor currently playing Superman in the DCU movies, may also lend his voice to Superman in a future game.

Gunn explained that while a couple of smaller DC games are on the way, larger and more ambitious projects are in the early planning stages. “We have a couple of little DC games coming out. But we also have talked about – and in early stages of planning – some bigger things. One thing in particular I’m excited about, but it does take time.”
This cautious optimism comes in the wake of major trouble at Warner Bros Games. Recent restructuring led to the cancellation of the Wonder Woman title and the closure of the studio working on the project, Monolith Productions. Other developers, including Player First Games and Warner Bros. San Diego, were also shuttered as part of the sweeping changes. With new leadership in place, Gunn hinted that discussions will take time. “There’s been some changes in Warner Bros. Games, and so we’re dealing with new people.”
DC Studios’ approach suggests a more integrated strategy, aligning its games with its films and television shows. Co-CEO Peter Safran previously confirmed that him and Gunn are working directly with major developers like Rocksteady Studios and NetherRealm Studios in order to ensure a shared creative vision. However, Gunn cautioned that any major new DCU game is still “a couple of years” away.
For now, the most interesting tease is in the possibility that Corenswet, who plays Superman in the latest James Gunn movie, may also voice the character in the interactive medium.
