Netflix has confirmed new details regarding the release schedule for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, clarifying plans for the anime’s continuation following its initial debut earlier this year. The streaming platform stated that the series will follow a split-cour format, with its next batch of episodes arriving in Fall 2026.
In a statement shared by Netflix Anime, the company said, “Thank you for all the incredible support for STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. The series is currently in production and will be available for everyone to enjoy.” It added, “We are planning a split-cour release across the entire run of episodes. The next cour (2nd STAGE) will begin streaming in fall 2026 on Netflix, with one new episode released each week.” The announcement also emphasized that the rollout reflects “the wishes of the production committee.”
The anime, produced by David Production, premiered its “1st STAGE” on March 19, 2026, featuring a single extended episode. The unconventional launch led to some confusion among viewers expecting a standard episodic rollout. With the second stage, the series will shift to a weekly release cadence, aligning more closely with traditional anime distribution.
Steel Ball Run follows Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic former jockey, and Gyro Zeppeli as they take part in a dangerous cross-country horse race set in 19th-century America. The upcoming weekly format is expected to maintain narrative momentum as the story progresses into its next phase.
Netflix concluded its message by acknowledging fan support, stating, “Your passion and enthusiasm mean a great deal to everyone involved in the preparation. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to bring you the 2nd STAGE.”
