Ember Lab has announced that Kena: Bridge of Spirits is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this month, with the acclaimed action-adventure set to launch on March 26 across North America, Europe, and Asia. The game will arrive a day earlier in Thailand on March 25, while a release date for Taiwan has yet to be confirmed. Pre-orders are now available via the Nintendo eShop in North America and Europe.

Originally released in September 2021 for PlayStation platforms, Kena: Bridge of Spirits received widespread praise and went on to secure multiple accolades, including Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2021. The title blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and real-time combat within a narrative-driven experience set in a mystical world.

Players take on the role of Kena, a young Spirit Guide tasked with uncovering the secrets of a forgotten village while journeying toward a sacred mountain shrine. Along the way, she is aided by the Rot, small spirit companions that play a key role in both combat and environmental interaction. These creatures can be collected throughout the world, unlocking new abilities that help cleanse corruption and open new paths.

The game emphasizes exploration, encouraging players to search for hidden collectibles and upgrades scattered throughout its environments. Items such as Rot Hats offer cosmetic customization, while charmstones introduce gameplay modifiers that can alter combat effectiveness and playstyle. Additional mechanics, including Spirit Mail, allow players to unlock new areas by delivering messages left behind by lost spirits.

Combat remains a central component, combining melee and ranged attacks with abilities powered by the Rot. Players can further test their skills in Spirit Guide Trials, which offer additional challenges and rewards tied to character progression.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version includes the previously released Anniversary DLC, bringing extra content such as charmstones, new outfits for Kena, and expanded accessibility options. It also features a New Game Plus mode, enabling players to replay the story with their unlocked upgrades, abilities, and companions intact, alongside more demanding enemy encounters.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is already available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Its upcoming release on Nintendo Switch 2 marks the latest expansion for the title, bringing its blend of storytelling and action to a new audience later this month.
