Deep Silver and Warhorse Studios’ action role-playing game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, will soon be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and if you’re on the fence about which version to pick up, read ahead.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers 2 graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X i.e. Quality and Performance. In terms of graphical settings, Quality mode features improved Level of Detail (LoD), draw distance, shadows, and ambient occlusion over Performance mode. The PS5 Pro mode retains the aforementioned improvements. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S version offers a single graphics mode that appears closer to Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
In terms of image quality, the PS5 and Xbox Series X run Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at a native resolution of 1440p in Quality mode, which is then upscaled to 4K (2160p) using FSR. In Performance mode, the game runs at a native resolution of 1080p, which is then upscaled to 1440p using FSR. The PS5 Pro mode runs at a native resolution of 1440p, which is then upscaled to 4K (2160p) using PSSR. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S version runs at a native resolution of 1080p with no image reconstruction applied.
With regards to performance, the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the game target a frame rate of 30 fps in Quality mode. In Performance mode, the PS5 and Xbox Series X target a frame rate of 60 fps on a 60 Hz display, and above 60 fps on a 120 Hz display that supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). The PS5 Pro mode also targets a frame rate of 60 fps on a 60 Hz display, and above 60 fps on a 120 Hz display with VRR support.
All in all, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on PS5 Pro offers the best possible experience on consoles, though the base PS5 and Series X also perform well.
