A native PlayStation 5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance may be in development, according to recent findings shared by the reliable tracking account PlayStation Game Size. Known for accessing backend data from the PlayStation Store, the account has a strong track record of revealing updates, download sizes, and even unannounced titles well before their official announcements.
In a brief yet suggestive tweet, PlayStation Game Size posted, “Kingdom Come: Deliverance – PS5 Version,” implying that a PS5-specific build of the game has recently been uploaded to Sony’s backend systems. While this is not an official confirmation, it is often a strong indicator that a next-gen release is being prepared behind the scenes.
Although Warhorse Studios has not made any public statement regarding an upgrade or re-release of the 2018 action RPG, such a move would align with recent trends. The developer has already enhanced its proprietary CryEngine technology for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which launched earlier this year. It is possible that some of these improvements—ranging from performance upgrades to graphical enhancements—could be backported to the original title and reintroduced on current-gen platforms such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance first came out on February 13, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, and then hit Nintendo Switch on March 15, 2024. It was a big hit, selling over 8 million copies by late 2024. The game is set in the Kingdom of Bohemia in the early 1400s, and you play as Henry, a blacksmith’s son who joins a resistance movement after raiders working for Hungarian king Sigismund destroy his village. The story follows real historical events as Henry goes after revenge and justice, and he ends up getting involved in trying to put King Wenceslaus IV back in power.
With how popular the series has become and the recent release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, a PS5 upgrade would be awesome for fans who want to replay the original with better graphics and smoother gameplay.
