Square Enix has marked the 24th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series with a new piece of artwork featuring Xehanort, shared by series director Tetsuya Nomura. The milestone falls on March 28, commemorating the long-running collaboration between Square Enix and Disney.

In a message shared alongside the celebration, the official account stated, “March 28 marked the 24th anniversary of “#KINGDOMHEARTS” 👑🗝️,” adding, “Thank you for all the celebrations from everyone.” The post also confirmed that a message of gratitude from the director had been delivered to fans.

The series has since moved into what is known as the Lost Master Arc, following the conclusion of the Dark Seeker Saga in Kingdom Hearts III. Current development efforts remain focused on Kingdom Hearts IV, which was first revealed in 2022 and introduces a new setting centered around the city of Quadratum.

While Square Enix has not provided a recent update on the release timeline, the project continues to be positioned as the next major chapter for the franchise. The anniversary message and new artwork arrive as the series steadily approaches its 25th year, with Nomura indicating ongoing work behind the scenes.
