Koei Tecmo Holdings Co., Ltd. has announced significant organizational and personnel changes across key subsidiaries, effective April 1, 2026. The update, issued on February 20, 2026, outlines structural adjustments at Koei Tecmo Games Co., Ltd., as well as personnel changes at Koei Tecmo Wave Co., Ltd. and Koei Tecmo Net Co., Ltd. The company stated that the purpose of the restructuring is to optimize its organizational framework in response to changes in the business environment.
At Koei Tecmo Games, several major divisions will undergo restructuring. Within the Entertainment Division, Team NINJA Brand Dept. 1 will be transferred to the Gust Brand and renamed Gust Brand Dept. 2. Meanwhile, Team NINJA Brand Dept. 2 will be divided into two separate units, forming a newly structured Team NINJA Brand Dept. 1 and Team NINJA Brand Dept. 2. This effectively reshapes the internal structure of Team NINJA while expanding the Gust brand’s operational capacity.
The IP Division will be renamed the Global IP Division, signaling a broader international focus. Similarly, the Marketing Federation will become the Global Marketing Federation. Under this change, the Global Marketing Dept. will be renamed the Marketing Dept., and the Global Business Dept. will become the Business Development Dept. In addition, a new Operations Federation will be established, absorbing the Global Business Promotion Dept. and Operations Dept. from the Marketing Federation. The Global Business Promotion Dept. will also be renamed the Business Promotion Dept.
Personnel changes accompany these structural adjustments. Mei Erikawa will continue as Director and Senior Executive Officer, Head of Ruby Party Brand, Entertainment Division, while no longer serving as Deputy Head of the Marketing Federation. Junzo Hosoi will assume expanded responsibilities as Senior Executive Officer, Deputy Division Operating Officer of the Entertainment Division, Head of Gust Brand, Deputy Division Operating Officer of the Global IP Division, and Deputy Head of the Global Marketing Federation.
Kenichi Ogasawara will take on the additional role of Head of the newly formed Operations Federation and Dept. Manager of the Business Promotion Dept. Toru Akutsu will resign due to mandatory retirement age and is scheduled to be appointed as an Advisor following his resignation. Other executive and departmental appointments, including changes involving Gohei Shibata, Yasutomo Watanabe, and Takeshi Matsuda, will also take effect on April 1, 2026.
Koei Tecmo Wave and Koei Tecmo Net will implement their own director-level adjustments, including leadership transitions and resignations tied to retirement and term completion. Altogether, the changes mark a broad internal realignment set to take effect at the start of the new fiscal year.
