Konami has revealed a series of new and returning features for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of the 2004 stealth-action classic. Alongside its faithfully recreated story and updated visuals, the game will include bonus modes and additional content designed to appeal to both long-time fans and newcomers.
Among the highlights is the return of the fan-favorite Guy Savage sequence. Originally appearing in Metal Gear Solid 3 as a hidden nightmare scenario, the mode has been reimagined for Delta under the guidance of PlatinumGames. Officially titled Guy Savage Δ, it will retain the surreal tone of the original while offering a fresh presentation. Players can encounter it as part of the main story or unlock it as a separate bonus mode upon completing the campaign.
Platform-specific extras are also confirmed. On PlayStation 5 and Steam, players will have access to Snake vs Monkey, a lighthearted crossover mode that tasks Naked Snake with capturing runaway apes. Meanwhile, Xbox Series X/S owners will receive a different exclusive mode titled Snake vs Bomberman, where Snake faces off against Konami’s iconic character in explosive encounters.
Beyond these, Konami is introducing an all-new online mode called Fox Hunt, set for release in fall 2025. This multiplayer feature blends stealth mechanics with survival-style gameplay, offering a hide-and-seek inspired experience set in the same universe as the main story. Additional humorous content will also be available in the form of the Secret Theater, unlocked after completing the game and by collecting 8mm film canisters scattered throughout the campaign.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater marks the first major entry in the franchise since 2018’s Metal Gear Survive. Developed internally at Konami Digital Entertainment, with support from Virtuos, the project is being overseen by series veterans Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado. The remake was selected for its importance as the chronological beginning of the saga, exploring Naked Snake’s mission in 1964 during the Cold War and his eventual confrontation with his mentor, The Boss.
Scheduled to launch on August 28, 2025, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.
