Konami has posted an impressive update to its franchise performance as of late September 2025, showing a resurgence in its classic properties led by the Metal Gear and Silent Hill series. The publisher’s console and PC game sales data reveal that Metal Gear has now surpassed 65.1 million lifetime sales, up 1.8 million units since the end of June 2025, while Silent Hill has climbed to 13 million units, a substantial 1.3 million-unit increase over the same period.
The momentum behind Silent Hill is especially notable. The dual success of Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f has revitalized the horror brand after a decade of dormancy. The Silent Hill 2 Remake—launched in 2024—surpassed one million sales within four days of release and has now sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide as of October 2025. Meanwhile, Silent Hill f, a bold reimagining and narrative spin-off set in 1960s Japan, outperformed even that milestone by selling one million copies in its first day (or within the first few days, depending on reporting). That achievement makes it the fastest-selling game in the franchise’s history, marking a clear commercial triumph for Konami’s renewed focus on survival horror.
The Metal Gear series continues to demonstrate enduring popularity as well. Following years of anticipation, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater launched to strong demand, exceeding one million copies sold across digital and physical formats within its first 24 hours. The remake’s impressive debut has positioned it as one of Konami’s most successful launches in recent memory, surpassing early sales benchmarks from earlier entries in the franchise. Its predecessor collection, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, also achieved a respectable performance during its late 2024 holiday release window, with estimated sales ranging between 900,000 and 1.5 million copies. Combined, these releases have propelled the Metal Gear brand back into mainstream attention, helping it maintain steady growth despite fierce market competition.
Beyond its two most prominent franchises, Konami also recorded moderate growth across other key properties. The Pawafuru Puroyaku and Yu-Gi-Oh! console game series each rose by 0.1 million units, while the long-running Momotaro Dentetsu series added another 0.1 million in lifetime sales. On the mobile front, Professional Baseball Spirits A (Ace) continued its dominant streak, gaining 2 million additional downloads since July 2025. Furthermore, the cross-platform title Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel achieved a remarkable milestone, increasing its cumulative downloads by 10 million since March 2025, reflecting strong engagement across both console and mobile audiences.
These figures collectively demonstrate Konami’s strengthened position across multiple gaming markets, balancing nostalgia-driven remakes with fresh, modern releases. With Silent Hill f and Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater proving commercially and critically successful, the company’s strategic revival of its most iconic brands appears to be paying off.
