In his interview, Silent Hill producer Motoi Okamoto shared his vision for the future of the survival horror game series. He reflected on the recent milestones that have helped put Silent Hill “back on track.” Following the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake in October, 2024, Konami successfully released Silent Hill f in September, 2025, delivering two major releases in consecutive years. According to Okamoto, this back-to-back momentum represents a turning point for the franchise.

Looking ahead, Konami aims to release roughly one Silent Hill title per year, including both already announced projects and titles that have yet to be revealed. While he admitted that sustaining such a pace will be challenging, Okamoto assured that the development teams are committed to doing their utmost to make it a reality. At the heart of this strategy is the desire to keep Silent Hill in the public consciousness. The Silent Hill producer explained that maintaining buzz around the series is a key objective, and he reassured fans that new information and updates will continue to arrive. In that regard, he added that Konami intends to communicate with fans more consistently in the future.

Discussing his current work, Okamoto expressed gratitude for the positive reception to Silent Hill f, particularly praising its strength as a psychological horror experience. He reaffirmed that narrative quality and psychological impact remain central pillars of the series’ identity. While Konami is motivated to pursue an annual release schedule, Okamoto noted that this ambition comes with the responsibility of ensuring that each title meets the series’ established standards. For him, delivering games frequently should never come at the expense of quality.
