Kratos Actor Chris Judge Hints at Major God of War Announcements in the Coming Weeks

by Salal Awan

Chris Judge, the voice of Kratos in the God of War series, has sparked excitement among fans by teasing “announcements” related to the franchise in the next two weeks. His cryptic statement, referring to multiple announcements, suggests the reveal of several projects. God of War animator Roberto Clemente added to the speculation by retweeting fan theories suggesting the studio’s involvement.

The Game Awards, set to take place next month, could be the venue for these potential announcements. Some rumors point to December 1st as the announcement date, while others believe the announcements might be made during The Game Awards. Additionally, Amazon’s upcoming Secret Levels series is confirmed to include an episode focused on God of War, further fueling speculation.

The God of War franchise was rebooted on the PS4, followed by a sequel available on both PS4 and PS5. The reboot quickly became one of Sony’s fastest-selling new games, and the sequel was also a success, recently launching for PC. Sony Santa Monica has released free post-launch content for GOW Ragnarok, including an update that adds Valhalla, a new post-game area featuring additional content.

While rumors about potential remasters of the classic GOW games for modern consoles have circulated for a long time, Judge’s involvement suggests that the announcements could extend beyond remakes. If Sony is indeed working on remakes or remasters of the original God of War trilogy, they could serve as a stopgap until a new game in the franchise is ready.

With the announcement date approaching, fans won’t have to wait much longer. In any case, it’s an exciting time to be a fan of the GOW series. Since the release of Ragnarok in 2022, there has been little information on Sony Santa Monica’s next project.
