Going by the vehicles seen in the above artwork, it looks like the tanks featured in Battlefield 6 will include a Leopard 2 A5 and an Ariete. Furthermore, a Russian Tigr armored vehicle can also be seein following an Ariete in one of the concepts, suggesting that Italy is aligned with Pax in the in-game conflict. This would also explain the F-35 vs F-35 dogfights seen in another screenshot.
Recently, participants of the first Battlefield 6 playtest leaked gameplay videos as well as the deployment screen from the game’s pre-alpha build. Based on the footage, it looks like in-round perks that were last seen in Battlefield 4 are making a return in the upcoming entry. Additionally, players will now have individual class loadouts to pick from. Another element that appears to have been brought back from Battlefield 4 is the deployment screen camera.
As far as the visuals go, the playtest is from a fairly early build, and it doesn’t represent the final look of Battlefield 6. That said, the destruction and first-person animations are a step up from the prior entry. Furthermore, it’s easy to tell that the game is aiming for a similar aesthetic to that of Battlefield 3, as seen in the official pre-alpha gameplay snippet. Though, some of the graphical flickering issues seen in Battlefield 2042 also appear to be present in this playtest.
The development team at Battlefield Studios refers to its playtests as Battlefield Labs. The initiative invites the community to participate in shaping the game’s evolution by testing combat mechanics, modes, and other features while providing valuable feedback. The collaboration aims to ensure that player voices directly influence the direction of the series.
